Description

Mepilex Border Post-Op can be used by lay persons under supervision of health care professionals.

1. Cleanse the wound and the surrounding skin in accordance with clinical practice.
2. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
3. The Mepilex Border Post-Op wound pad should overlap the wound by at least 1-2 cm in order to protect the surrounding skin from maceration and fixate the dressing securely.
4. For dressings with one release film, remove the release film partly or completely. For dressings with two release films, remove the small release film partly or completely and then remove the larger release film, partly or completely.
5. Apply the adherent side to the wound, allowing initial fixation of the dressing. If applicable, gently remove the remainder of the release film(s) while smoothing the dressing with the other hand to avoid wrinkles. Do not stretch the dressing during application.
6. Grip the application frame and tear the perforation apart.
7. Gently remove the application frame. Avoid wrinkles while fixating the edges by smoothing the dressing with the other hand.

Mepilex Border Post-Op may be left in place for up to 14 days, depending on the condition of the wound and the surrounding skin, or as indicated by clinical practice.

Disposal should be handled according to local environmental procedures.
